Gene regulation in prokaryotes
This lecture explains about the Gene regulation in prokaryotes.
Regulation of gene expression entails a broad range of mechanisms that are used by cells to develop or diminish the production of specific gene products (protein or RNA), and is informally termed gene legislation. Subtle applications of gene expression are greatly located in biology, for example to trigger developmental pathways, respond to environmental stimuli, or adapt to new food sources. Practically any step of gene expression may also be modulated, from transcriptional initiation, to RNA processing, and to the put up-translational amendment of a protein.
Gene law is main for viruses, prokaryotes and eukaryotes as it raises the flexibility and suppleness of an organism via allowing the mobile to express protein when wanted. Despite the fact that as early as 1951 Barbara McClintock confirmed interplay between two genetic loci, Activator (Ac) and Dissociator (Ds), within the color formation of maize seeds, the primary discovery of a gene legislation procedure is largely regarded to be the identification in 1961 of the lac operon, learned by means of Jacques Monod, where some enzymes concerned in lactose metabolism are expressed with the aid of the genome of E. Coli most effective in the presence of lactose and absence of glucose.
Furthermore, in multicellular organisms, gene legislation drives the approaches of mobile differentiation and morphogenesis, leading to the creation of specific mobilephone types that possess distinct gene expression profiles, and as a consequence produce distinctive proteins/have different ultrastructures that swimsuit them to their features (though all of them possess the genotype, which follows the equal genome sequence).
The initiating event leading to a change in gene expression comprise activation or deactivation of receptors. Also, there may be evidence that alterations in a cell’s choice of catabolism results in altered gene expressions.

thanku sir🤗
good explanation
What does downstream or upstream mean
so if question like GENE EXPRESSION / GENE REGULATION we have to write lac.operon and trp.openon mechanism …!!?
Well explained…thanks so much
I am seeing this now in 2021. Tomorrow is my exam.
Do you mean that bacteria has one promoter for the whole DNA , or each group of genes has a promoter ??
Late night exam shortcut
Arrangements of Lac genes are
Z Y A
Thank you
Great👏
Best 👍

Sir Please reply
What is the global and narrow domain mechanism of gene expression???
Sir please make a class about it!!
Thanks for the well-organized information on how this works. My textbook isn't that clear on how this works, thanks for the midterm help.
If you are my teacher i never have to watch the videos you're a true microbiologist ❤❤…..thanks so much …you're kinda savior for me during exam 😁
You are just too good. Thanks for uoloading your videos. You make concepts so very clear. Keep up doing the good work. Thanks.
thank you so much sir
Best explanation ever , thank you sir 🌺💜
The way u explain the any topic just too good… Thanks
Sir genes are arranged in order like Z Y A not. Y Z A
Tq so much sir, this video given a clear picture of gene regulation
Thanksss Sooo much sir
No one can explain genetics better than u sir
Very helpful
Tnq so much….your videos help me lot for my msc agri jrf exams
Thanks u sir
YOU ARE THE BEST. WHO ARE YOU??
Brother ap lactures ko num diya karo smj hi nai ati kis vidyo k baad kis vidyo ko dakhna hay
Thnks for the help
Is this regulation of transcription?
Transcription – processes and regulation in prokaryotes. Pls let me know this.
